After a\u00a0childhood sprinkled of very tough events, she appeared at age 13\u00a0at a live singing contest in 1950. When the event host, amused by the look of this young and skinny girl perched on over-sized high heels, asked her which planet she was coming from, Elza Soares answered:\u00a0<em>\u201cI\u2019m coming from the same planet as you, sir\u2026 from Planet Hunger\u201d. Planet Hunger\u2014Planeta Fome <\/em>in Portuguese<em>\u2014<\/em>is precisely the title of her new album sets to arrive September 13th and\u00a0\u201cLiberta\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d is the first single from the album. It features Brazilian vocalist\u00a0Virg\u00ednia Rodrigues and afro-futuristic band BaianaSystem.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6XrCS1GI2ec\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The new album\u00a0<em>Planeta Fome<\/em>\u00a0will also features other notable artists from Soares\u2019 native country, such as veteran rapper BNeg\u00e3o and rising artist Rafael Mike.
