Welcome to\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\">London tropicalia.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gathering his family of collaborators\u00a0with diverse musical backgrounds in soul, jazz and gospel as well as African and Brazilian forms, <em>Birds<\/em> is an album that finally lays waste to that tired idea of &#8216;world music&#8217;.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its an album of warm organic grooves infused with sophisticated funkiness and splattered with instrumental color. From the Afro skank swagger of the low slung opener &#8216;Mentality&#8217; to the Beatles-esque pathos of the closing title track, it\u2019s a record packed with soulful surprises and beguiling rhythms.\u00a0It&#8217;s kind of\u00a0a melting pot of the capital\u2019s musical life.
