FKA twigs aka Tahliah Barnett just release\u00a0Magdalene,\u00a0<\/em>a masterpiece of emotional experimental R&B and electronica.\u00a0Magdalene<\/em>\u00a0pulls back the curtain on Tahliah Barnett the person, or at least as much of her as she wants us to see, and that curtain is\u00a0flamboyant\u00a0<\/span>and luscious, frequently abundantly gorgeous. Alongside a handful of outside producers, among them Nicolas Jaar and Arca, Twigs constructed sound designs worthy of Renaissance architecture.<\/p>\n

Kele<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/h5>\n

2042<\/em>\u00a0is Kele\u2019s fourth solo record and, following 2017 largely acoustic\u00a0Fatherland<\/em>\u00a0(released under his full name and featuring a duet with Olly Alexander from Years and Years), marks something of a return to the adrenalised electronics of his previous two solo records,\u00a0Trick<\/em>\u00a0(2014) and\u00a0The Boxer<\/em>\u00a0(2010), whilst broadening the sonic palette by bringing in elements of his work with Bloc Party and a litany of other influences and ideas.<\/p>\n

Moor Mother<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h4>\n

Philadelphia-based artist, poet and musician\u00a0Moor Mother, aka Camae Ayewa, returns today with a new album,\u00a0Analog Fluids of Sonic Black Holes.\u00a0<\/em>Its the follow-up of her\u00a02016 debut album\u00a0Fetish Bones\u00a0<\/em>and according to Don Giovanni Records: \u201chaunting slave narratives are presented as dystopian allegory and negro spirituals are flipped, remixed, and recaptured, only to be digitized into a symbiotic bio-morph program for the post-thumb drive age\u201d on this album.<\/p>\n

Night Dreamer Sessions<\/em><\/h5>\n
Seun Kuti & Egypt 80<\/a><\/span><\/h5>\n

Night Dreamer Sessions\u00a0<\/em>is a\u00a0<\/em>one-take recording from Kuti\u2019s 2018 album\u00a0Black Times.\u00a0<\/em>Brand new London-based record label Night Dreamer has recaptured the organic essence of direct to disc through a series of recordings at Artone Studio in Haarlem, Netherlands.\u00a0The philosophy of\u00a0Night Dreamer<\/em>\u00a0is\u00a0about bringing together artists of a certain calibre who thrive off live collaboration and improvisation, not scared of taking risks and who vibe in-the-moment \u2013 a sense of heightened artistry, if you will.<\/p>\n

On his remarkable second album, the Cape Town artist confirms that South Africa is not cold-hearted when it comes to being creative in a style that has already seen a large number of ambassadors through the world.\u00a0Influenced very early by the jazz his father listened to, Dwson regurgitates all this finesse in his\u00a0personal and refreshing deep house, right in the spirit of the label.<\/p>\n

DSB\u2019s first release consists of a diskomiks by Prins Thomas and two house tracks by Perdu.\u00a0The Diskomiks has already reached a legendary status in Belgium since it\u2019s free promotional download for Petrol\u2019s summer club in 2013.\u00a0The B side is completed by promising Amsterdam producer Perdu. His\u00a0track starts with a stomping beat and gradually opens up to an oasis of sounds.<\/p>\n
