The project which features a bunch of great artistes\u00a0including Naira Marley, Peruzzi, Zlatan, Popcaan, Summer Walker, Dremo, Chris Brown, A Boogie with Da Hoodie\u00a0and others.\u00a0Production across the album comes from the likes of\u00a0Kiddominant, Shizzi, London On Da Track, Speroach Beatz, P2J\u00a0and more.<\/p>\n

Awesome Tapes From Africa\u00a0reissues visionary Antoinette Konan\u2019s eponymous album.\u00a0Known as the \u201cQueen of the Ahoko\u201d among Ivorians, Konan single-handedly put the central-Ivorian instrument on the map when she gave it a 20th-century re-introduction.\u00a0Released in 1986,\u00a0her eponymous album is a\u00a0true opus\u00a0of instrumental force and contemporary pop sensibility landing in a\u00a0melting\u00a0pot of diverse, creative characters inhabiting Abidjan, Ivory Coast.<\/p>\n

11th Street, Sekondi<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Gyedu-Blay Ambolley<\/b><\/h4>\n

Ghanaian highlife star and renowned saxophonist, singer and guitarist Gyedu-Blay Ambolley\u00a0returns with\u00a011th Street, Sekondi<\/em>, his 32nd album since his debut in 1973. Named after the area of West\u00a0Ghana\u00a0in which he grew up,\u00a0Ambolley\u2019s 11th Street<\/em> album\u00a0is a look back at the area and musical styles that shaped the musician\u2019s life. It’s the second of his album to be released on German label Agogo Records, after acclaimed 2017 hit,\u00a0Ketan<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Junius\u00a0is a bridge between generations of the Chicago vanguard, currently playing in Makaya McCraven\u2019s combo and in the Art Ensemble of Chicago, in addition to fronting his own band.<\/p>\n

A classically trained multi-instrumentalist, Don Laka began his career in the \u201870s and then joined the seminal jazz outfit Sakhile in the early \u201880s.\u00a0Constantly striving for the latest sounds, Laka\u2019s early explorations culminated in his debut solo album,\u00a0I Wanna Be Myself:\u00a0\u201cThis was the first commercial record made on a Fairlight in this country.\u00a0The only thing I programmed was the drums. You can hear the snare sound, I think it was a mix of some cracked bottles and something that we just mixed.”<\/em><\/p>\n
