A blend of Semba, Merengue, Kompas, Soukouss, Coladeira patterns, often pushing forward with a voodoo-like energy, solid bass lines, delicate melodies and backing harmonies of the rich S\u00e3o Tomean melodic traditions.\u00a0L\u00e9ve-L\u00e9ve is the first ever compilation devoted to music from S\u00e3o Tome &amp; Pr\u00edncipe, two small islands situated off the coast of Gabon in central Africa.<\/p>\n<p><iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=4180894842\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" seamless=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"><a href=\"http:\/\/lesdisquesbongojoe.bandcamp.com\/album\/l-ve-l-ve-sao-tom-principe-sounds-70s-80s\">L\u00c9VE L\u00c9VE Sao Tom\u00e9 &amp; Principe sounds 70s-80s by Various Artists<\/a><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The album unravels a story of liberation where the music of Africa, Europe and the Americas unify with a carefree spirit personified by a phrase the islanders use all the time: &#8216;l\u00e9ve, l\u00e9ve&#8217; (&#8216;take it easy&#8217;).\u00a0From the mid-1970s, coinciding with independence from Portugal in 1975, the islands\u2019 groups featured an even stronger African influence and nowhere was that more apparent than with Africa Negra.
