{"id":41054,"date":"2020-01-16T11:38:17","date_gmt":"2020-01-16T10:38:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/thundercat-announces-new-album-shares-new-single-black-qualls\/"},"modified":"2020-05-10T16:35:54","modified_gmt":"2020-05-10T15:35:54","slug":"thundercat-black-qualls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/thundercat-black-qualls\/","title":{"rendered":"Thundercat announces new album, shares new single &#8216;Black Qualls&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe  class=\"pam-featured-content\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_p7dXbDAXuQ\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h4>The prodigious bassist\u00a0hires\u00a0The Internet&#8217;s\u00a0guitarist and singer Steve Lacy and renowned musician\u00a0Steve Arrington on his new single.<\/h4>\n<p>Virtuoso bassist Thundercat, that all of the most prominent artists are fighting for, from Kendrick Lamar to Travis Scott, including Childish Gambino and Janelle Mon\u00e1e, will be back in April with the release of his fourth album, <em>It Is What It Is<\/em>.\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The album, produced by Flying Lotus and Thundercat, features musical contributions from Ty Dolla $ign, Childish Gambino, Lil B, Kamasi Washington, Steve Lacy, Steve Arrington, BADBADNOTGOOD, Louis Cole and Zack Fox. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The unruly bounce of new single &#8220;Black Qualls&#8221; is classic Thundercat, teaming up with Steve Lacy (The Internet) and funk icon Steve Arrington (Slave). It\u2019s another example of Stephen Lee Bruner\u2019s desire to highlight the lineage of his music and pay his respects to the musicians who inspired him.
