Wainwright on drums.\u00a0<em>Welcome to Love<\/em> is an ideal introduction to Sanders and a stepping-stone to the saxophonist\u2019s more inventive, avant-garde and spiritual pieces.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-t6OVp-IRUw\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>On this (harder to find) album,\u00a0the master saxophonist plays straight-up jazz, and the result is a gorgeous collection of ballads where you can really feel Sanders\u2019 enormous self-reflection and homesickness.\u00a0On Welcome to Love, Sanders\u00a0treats the songs with reverent lyricism on both tenor and soprano\u2026 each song is infused with a subtle emotional quality that simply does not let go.\u00a0Hailed as Sanders\u2019 finest albums from his rethinking period, in many ways, the album is a tribute to Coltrane\u2019s Ballads album of 1961 but with Pharoah\u2019s print marked all over it.<\/p>\n<p><em>Welcome to Love<\/em> follows Transversales Disques\u2019 release of Sanders\u2019 1975 Paris concert, <em>Live In Paris<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Welcome to Love,\u00a0<\/em>out on March\u00a027th via Tidal Waves Music.
