On tour to promote his last album\u00a0Ilana: the Creator, Nigerien Mdou Moctar shares two new tracks.\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/h4>\n

Nigerien-born, Tuareg musician Mdou Moctar<\/a> released<\/span> last year\u00a0Ilana: the Creator<\/em>, a striking example of\u00a0the magic of rock\u2019n\u2019roll-fed Tamacheck guitars polished by the spirits of the desert.<\/p>\n

Recorded during the studio sessions of\u00a0Ilana : the Creator<\/span>, on the song \u00ab Ibitlan \u00bb\u00a0 Mdou Moctar sings his lover’s beauty over his electrifying guitar riffs.\u00a0In a statement via\u00a0<\/span>The Fader<\/a>\u00a0he<\/span><\/em>\u00a0explained:\u00a0<\/span>“It’s like when there’s a valley, with a stream running through it, and all the plants are green. The song is about how my girlfriend is beautiful like that. Her skin is lik<\/span>e a yellow flower, and her smile is like lightning.”<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
