In the past year, both artistes \u2013 who are closely knit friends \u2013 have seen their stock rise in fame and fortune.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It all began with their (among others) arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) with the Nigerian Government agency basing this act on the premise that they were advanced fee fraudsters (Yahoo boys). Eventually released, Zlatan Ibile walked free while his locs-wearing comrade was in prison; he too, was eventually let go after a hearing, after he applied for bail at two million naira, amongst other commitments.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since then however, both artistes have conquered the Nigerian \u2013 and in extension, African \u2013 music industry with their high-energy, Fuji-influenced Pop sounds. While Zlatan Ibile is notoriously still considered a rapper, Naira Marley leads a new movement which has sprung from the streets, riden fiercely on the wheels of fandom: Marlians.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Together, they share credits to the problematic \u201cAm I Yahoo Boy\u201d.
