Daa Dee<\/em>\u00a0is the new 13-song studio album from Ethiopian singer Minyeshu Kifle Tedla, aka Minyeshu; a hypnotic and modern hybrid of Ethiopian grooves and melodies, mixed with western instruments and styles.<\/p>\n

Minyeshu was born under the Ethiopian sun in the city of Dire-Dawa, later moving to the capital, Addis Ababa, where she joined the National Theatre of Ethiopia aged 17. There she discovered \u2018the father\u2019 of Ethio-jazz, Mulatu Astatke and choreographer Tadesse Worku. Subsequently, Minyeshu had the golden opportunity to share the stage with some of Ethiopia\u2019s great musical icons including Mulatu Astatke and singers Mahmoud Ahmed, Tilahun Gessesse, Bizunesh Bekele and many others. Minyeshu relocated to Europe in 1996, moving first to Belgium to further her career and from there to the Netherlands where she now lives and works.<\/p>\n

Minyeshu will launch \u2018Daa Dee\u2019 at the #1 jazz venue in the Netherlands \u2013 Bimhuis in Amsterdam \u2013 on 21st November 2018 and the album will be released internationally through ARC Music on October 26th 2018.<\/p>\n
