Ghanaian acts like King Promise, Amaarae, as well as Stonebwoy, have all toured parts of America and Europe, taking opportunities that previously didn\u2019t exist. Nigerians are leading the charge with their top stars dominating global charts as well as headlining the biggest festivals. As we enter 2023, we are excited to hear the new sounds and artists that will emerge from Ghana. Skyface burst onto the scene in 2020 when he dropped \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TgA0Fw5ybuQ\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TgA0Fw5ybuQ\" target=\"_blank\">M.O.B<\/a>\u201d feat Reggie and O\u2019Kenneth. Kept it consistent with songs like \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OJ75MTSdTV0\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OJ75MTSdTV0\" target=\"_blank\">Bend Down<\/a>\u201d, \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yP63uXgv3_c\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yP63uXgv3_c\" target=\"_blank\">Bad Boys<\/a>\u201d, \u201ctaking shot\u201d cementing his name as a dominant name in the Asakaa collective. He had an even better 2022 after the successful release of his EP \u201cThe Menace\u201d which had his hit \u2018<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=07fk7YOpZ60\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=07fk7YOpZ60\" target=\"_blank\">Beyi Me<\/a>\u2019 feat label mates O\u2019Kenneth, Kwaku DMC, Jay Bahd, City Boy, and Reggie. He is the first Ghanaian to be named Apple Music UP Next and is primed to reach greater heights in 2023.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Larruso - Midnight (Official Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1FbzbsWSN88?feature=oembed&#038;autoplay=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Larruso<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Larruso made an impression on dancehall lovers in 2019 with the release of his hit single \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Pw6WErIyrNY\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Pw6WErIyrNY\">Killy Killy<\/a>\u201d and has slowly gathered a cult following. 2020 saw him enter new levels as he dropped \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qOpN5xVWkqg\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qOpN5xVWkqg\" target=\"_blank\">Gi Dem<\/a>\u201d and \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QXePKTqIUV4\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QXePKTqIUV4\" target=\"_blank\">One Man<\/a>\u201d which became street anthems. The reggae\/ dancehall musician was nominated three times at the VGMA Awards in 2021 and in 2022 he released his debut LP dubbed \u201cSounds from the Slums\u201d which was received with rave applause all over the streets of Ghana with songs like \u201cMidnight\u201d helping him churn huge numbers. His experience as a producer reflects in his debut EP titled \u2018YUNG\u2019 as he shows his range smoothly blazing through different genres. He is recognized for his Afro-fusion sound, combining western R&amp;B and pop elements with African sounds. Demz is also the youngest producer to have been nominated for the Producer of the year award at the 2021 edition of the VGMAS. He is the producer behind <a href=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/tag\/kwesi-arthur\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/tag\/kwesi-arthur\/\">Kwesi Arthur<\/a>&#8216;s \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WMOZaEP4Fl4\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WMOZaEP4Fl4\" target=\"_blank\">Baajo<\/a>\u201d, \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kqex0ANhWpI\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kqex0ANhWpI\" target=\"_blank\">Turn on the lights<\/a>\u201d, and Gyakie&#8217;s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=T9tdMPvd0bk\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=T9tdMPvd0bk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Whine<\/a>\u201d.&nbsp; 2023 looks like a promising year for the singer\/producer as he has a new project coming out soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"SuperJazzClub - MAD [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO]\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9fZTpMiCxN8?feature=oembed&#038;autoplay=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SuperJazzClub<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/tag\/superjazzclub-2\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/tag\/superjazzclub-2\/\">SuperJazzClub<\/a> is a group of nine multi-talented individuals with skills ranging from vocals and production to DJing, filmmaking, and much more. Known for their unconventional approach, the group\u2019s first song together was released in 2019 titled \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hkeCL3F2wH8\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hkeCL3F2wH8\" target=\"_blank\">Couple Black Kids<\/a>\u201d with their raw creativity shown through not only the music but through their production and visuals. In 2020, the collective released its first project in the form of EP \u201cFor All the Good Times\u201d. The 8-song project fully introduced them to the Ghanaian creative scene, with songs like \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OeGRwqr83v4\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OeGRwqr83v4\" target=\"_blank\">Wide Awake<\/a>\u201d, \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qZPwQJn6ul0\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qZPwQJn6ul0\" target=\"_blank\">Till the morning<\/a>\u201d, \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=J0o-2PfGtNI\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=J0o-2PfGtNI\" target=\"_blank\">Games<\/a>\u201d, showing the group&#8217;s diversity. They are in the building process, slowly gathering a cult following not only in Ghana but in France and UK as they organize their own gigs bringing together their community wherever they may find themselves. They seem more than prepared for 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Fameye - Thank You (Official Music Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vAeAJWhNe2k?feature=oembed&#038;autoplay=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fameye<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Switching from rap in his early days to highlife, Fameye gained nationwide recognition after being part of a talent show, MTN hitmaker S3. He is best known for his single, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=41KE2OgzC-M\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=41KE2OgzC-M\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nothing I Get<\/a>\u201d which helped him win best new artist at the VGMAS in 2020. His music has a unique, versatile pattern with melodious rhythms and vocals that sets him apart from the rest. There\u2019s no surprise he won songwriter of the year with his song \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=q_ADehdSLTU\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=q_ADehdSLTU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PRAISE<\/a>\u201d in 2022. His name has continued to come up in conversations about Ghanaian acts exploring new territories.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"GuiltyBeatz - Universe feat. Mr Hudson &amp; Twitch 4EVA (Official Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TXhoyuwWEk8?feature=oembed&#038;autoplay=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GuiltyBeatz<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/guiltybeatz-artist-producer\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/guiltybeatz-artist-producer\/\">GuiltyBeatz<\/a>&#8211; Originally working as a sound engineer, GuiltyBeatz became a self-taught producer who has managed to work with <a href=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/tag\/sarkodie\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/tag\/sarkodie\/\">Sarkodie<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/tag\/r2bees\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/tag\/r2bees\/\">R2bees<\/a>, Mr Eazi and Stonebwoy. Known for making feel good music that makes you dance, his music is a blend of Afrobeats, electro house and dance pop. He got his major break with the release of \u201cAkwaaba\u201d with Mr Eazi, Patapaa and Pappy Kojo which earned him several nominations. Things changed from there as he\u2019s managed to continue his great work by working with the likes of Beyonc\u00e9 and Tems. He has production credits for three songs on Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s album \u201cThe Lion King: The Gift\u201d in 2019 and also signed a sony music UK publishing deal. In 2020 he released his first EP \u201cDifferent\u201d with soulful house music that makes you dance. He has been exploring new spheres as a Dj following the footsteps of Major Lazor or Black Coffee. 2023 looks good for the artist\/producer as he has a new project coming out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Moliy - Freak (Official Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/31vE_zgiv9I?feature=oembed&#038;autoplay=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Moliy<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Moliy rose to stardom after her 2020 feature on Amaaraes \u201cSad Girls Love Money\u201d remix with Kali Uchis which debuted at number 80 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The singer\/songwriter released her first body of work during the period of the pandemic. A unique lyricist, she sings in English, Pidgin, and Ga and has gradually sculpted her way into the ears of music lovers. With her soothing voice and thought-provoking lyrics, she has been compared to the likes of Asa and Jesse Reyez. Her style and authenticity shine through her most recent hit, \u201cOutside\u201d which dropped in 2022. This New Year looks promising as she\u2019s preparing to release a new project.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Marince Omario ft Humphrey Musiq - Remind(Official video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Dqwa9kgCPiU?feature=oembed&#038;autoplay=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Marince Omario<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Marince Omario merges various genres into a distinct style he terms \u201cFu\u201d. Hes known for using traditional Ga rhythms with trap, hiplife and R&amp;B into a unique sound of his own. Marince has two solo projects in his catalogue, \u201cOblitey\u201d which is more of an introspective body of work about living and growing in Accra. He also dropped another EP titled \u201cTsotsoo\u201d, a project dedicated to the memory of his grandma. His music has a way of teleporting the listener as he gives you different perspectives of lives, its struggles and its victories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"BRYAN THE MENSAH - Problem No Dey Finish (Remix) [Feat. He moves between rap, pop, and alternative which is a bit unorthodox for a contemporary rap artist. After his debut \u201cFriends with the Sun\u201d, Bryan has dropped three other EP, and his \u201cRoad to Hastafari\u201d album in 2021. The twelve track album features Black Sherif, Manifest, Nigeria\u2019s A-Q and PsychoYP as well as Titi Owusu. 2021 proved to be a good year as his single \u201cProblem no dey finish\u201d was also receiving great reviews and introducing Bryan to a new market.
