Linda Ayupuka<\/a> was discovered last summer with the release of her first album on the Mais Um label. This devoted Christian travels the length and height of Ghana to sing at weddings, funerals and other religious ceremonies, with or without her live band and her 50 or so backup singers. Between services, she joins Francis Ayamga in his hilltop studio in Bongo, a town in the Upper East Region of Ghana bordering Burkina Faso. In addition to being a talented multi-instrumentalist, Francis has become an in-demand producer, since his work with King Ayisoba, a virtuoso of the two-stringed instrument called the kologo. Curator of the compilation This is FraFra Power<\/em>, Francis has become an expert in the field and now decides to add his own digital touch with frenetic polyrhythms and retro futuristic synthetic loops.
