{"id":110172,"date":"2022-07-13T19:45:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-13T17:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/?p=110172"},"modified":"2022-07-15T10:57:10","modified_gmt":"2022-07-15T08:57:10","slug":"nakhane-tell-me-your-politik","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/nakhane-tell-me-your-politik\/","title":{"rendered":"Nakhane campaigns for ideologically aligned lovers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nakhane unveils new single \u201cTell Me Your Politik\u201d, and the music video that goes along with it, featuring Nile Rodgers and Moonchild Sanelly.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The unquestionably talented South African artist Nakhane, who has now built a solid reputation for himself, after the release of <em>Brave Confusion <\/em>and <em>You Will Not Die, <\/em>invites fellow star <a href=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/tag\/moonchild-sanelly\/\">Moonchild Sanelly<\/a> and American guitar player Nile Rodgers to partake in their new single \u201cTell Me Your Politik\u201d. For the purpose of this new title, Nakhane has directed a music video to give it its full dramatic potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Nakhane - Tell Me Your Politik (feat. This scene is interspersed with images of two people embracing near the barracks. A Lee Ermey look-alike drill instructor headed to the training camp stumbles upon them, enraged at the discovery of one of his trainees, the main protagonist, in a non-conformist relationship. Back at the training camp, soldiers are still training, this time supervised by the yelling drill instructor. The music has started and the soldier\u2019s footsteps are synchronised with the title\u2019s hyper-percussive rhythm. Something is about to go down, the drill instructor has decided to make his trainee pay for this felt affront. The soldier falls on the ground, the recruits\u2019 training moves evolve into an elaborate choreography over a jazzy tune. Everyone is suddenly transported into a nightclub where Moonchild Sanelly\u2019s singing is accompanied by Nile Rodgers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Kiss me if you want to, touch me if you want to, I wouldn\u2019t say no, but first, you\u2019ve got to tell me about your politik\u201d<\/em> : Nakhane\u2019s message is clear. There is no point in relationships, even sexual ones, if people\u2019s values do not align. Mixing gqom and kwaito, their pop-infused thesis is defiantly bolstered by Moonchild Sanelly\u2019s essential contribution.
