{"id":108963,"date":"2022-06-21T14:55:56","date_gmt":"2022-06-21T12:55:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/?p=108963"},"modified":"2023-06-22T19:17:18","modified_gmt":"2023-06-22T17:17:18","slug":"molotof-free-palestine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/molotof-free-palestine\/","title":{"rendered":"Molotof remixes Fairuz on \u201cFree Palestine\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Two months after the premiere of PAM\u2019s Off the Map documentary, the young Cairene artist has been busy dropping new tracks including this lastest taking a stand for the Palestinian people.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Last April, PAM released a <a href=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/molotof-off-the-map\/\">film<\/a> directed by Arthur Larie and Bastien Massa telling the story of young electronic producer Molotof and his life in Cairo following the Arab Spring. Since, he has not exactly slowed down. On the contrary, he has been riding the tide to expand his musical projects and build his artistic persona. In the span of two months, Molotof has released two EPs (<em>Zapatista <\/em>and <em>7eenMaysara<\/em>)<em>, <\/em>seven separate tracks and a bundle of remixes including \u201cFree Palestine\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Molotof - Free Palestine \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0631\u064a\u0629 \u0644\u0641\u0644\u0633\u0637\u064a\u0646\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/l0TCpyC_7Rc?feature=oembed&#038;autoplay=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption>Molotof &#8211; Free Palestine \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0631\u064a\u0629 \u0644\u0641\u0644\u0633\u0637\u064a\u0646<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Sampling \u201cAl Quds fil Bal\u201d from legendary Lebanese singer Fairuz, Molotof takes a stand for the Palestinian people in an track unambigiously called \u201cFree Palestine\u201d. A telling choice, as the Soul of Lebanon used the original to pay tribute to the suffering of Palestinan people in what translated to \u201cJerusalem in my mind\u201d. Like Fairuz before him, Molotof is using his platform to spread a politically engaged message and shed light on the plight of the Palestinian people caught in the middle of a century-old conflict.
