{"id":108479,"date":"2022-06-13T17:15:49","date_gmt":"2022-06-13T15:15:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/?p=108479"},"modified":"2022-06-13T17:16:00","modified_gmt":"2022-06-13T15:16:00","slug":"mr-eazi-legalize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/mr-eazi-legalize\/","title":{"rendered":"Mr Eazi showcases his love for art in \u201cLegalize\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mr Eazi announces the release of debut album with a new clip \u201cLegalize\u201d shot in Venice with his now-fiancee Temi Otedola.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nigerian artist, dilettante and <a href=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/mr-eazi-the-man-musician-mogul\/\">business mogul Mr Eazi<\/a> alongside actress Temi Otedola flew to Italy to shoot a music video in Venice directed by Federico Mazzarisi for his new single \u201cLegalize\u201d produced by Michael Brun (Haiti\/USA), E Kelly (Nigeria) and Nonso Amadi (Nigeria\/Canada). The Ca\u2019 Sagredo Hotel and the Punta Della Dogana and Palazzo Grimani museums served as a romantic backdrop for Mr Eazi\u2019s declaration of love to Otedola, in the clip (and in real life, as the singer took this opportunity to propose).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLegalize\u201d is the first track of his upcoming album which follows his mixtapes <em>Life is Eazi, Vol. 1: From Accra to Lagos<\/em> and <em>Life is Eazi, Vol. 2: From Lagos to London <\/em>and his EPs <em>One Day You Will Understand<\/em> and <em>Something Else. <\/em>The musician\u2019s appreciation for art shown in the clip\u2019s setting, will also be apparent throughout this new projet. Indeed, each track will be the object of a commissioned piece from an African artist. For the new-released afrobeats single Mr Eazi partnered with the Beninese painter Patricorel who made a painting also entitled \u201cLegalize\u201d for this occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, for the release of <em>Something else, <\/em>Mr Eazi had expressed his desire to make music for himself. \u201c<em>I\u2019d come to this point where I\u2019d gotten bored of just making records for hits<\/em>\u201d, he said then. \u201c<em>I wanna make music for myself and I wanna make what I wanna make cause I\u2019ve earned a place to not chase after something.\u201d <\/em>With this deeply personal track Mr Eazi fulfills his wish. <em>\u201cIt\u2019s more like this song is for me,\u201d <\/em>Mr. Eazi confirmed. <em>\u201cA lot of the album I\u2019m working on feels that way.
