Over the years, she found a passion for soulful house music, particularly that which is unique to South Africa. In 2018, she started behind the decks at Reprezent Radio London, taking the opportunity to develop her personality as a DJ and her interest in amapiano. She then ramped things up during quarantine with regular livestreams, DJ sets uploaded to SoundCloud and residencies on online radio stations No Signal and Plus Radio, connecting London audiences to this undeniably viral sound. With her progressive, no-holds-barred, finely-constructed sets, the elegant Nicky is making a name for herself at Amafest, the first UK festival of its kind!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Hey, I’m Nicky Summers! I’m a DJ from London, UK and I play South African house music! I selected these songs because they accurately reflect the way I like to build my sound, slowly but surely, before hitting with heavier sounds. I don’t know of any other musical genre where each instrument is able to captivate and take us so far.
