{"id":100372,"date":"2022-03-01T11:33:27","date_gmt":"2022-03-01T10:33:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/?p=100372"},"modified":"2022-03-01T16:57:25","modified_gmt":"2022-03-01T15:57:25","slug":"soul-jazz-studio-one-dub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/soul-jazz-studio-one-dub\/","title":{"rendered":"Soul Jazz reissues Studio One Dub compilation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Soul Jazz is reprinting a 2xLP compilation of Coxsone Dodd\u2019s dub versions with Horace Andy, Johnny Osbourne and more for an 18th anniversary edition.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A long out of print classic, <em>Studio One Dub<\/em> is being re-released for its 18th anniversary with some of dub\u2019s best artists and version specialists. <em>Studio One Dub<\/em> includes the dubs of many classic tracks such as Horace Andy\u2019s \u201cSkylarkin\u201d, Johnny Osbourne\u2019s \u201cTruth and Rights\u201d, John Holt\u2019s \u201cHooligan\u201d, Freddie McGregor\u2019s \u201cBobby Bobylon\u201d plus many more rare tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coxsone Dodd, a Jamaican record producer instrumental in the emergence of dub and ska, opened <a href=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/tag\/studio-one\/\">Studio One<\/a> on Brentford Road, Kingston in 1963. Studio One went on to become one of the most renowned Jamaican record labels and the Studio One sound became synonymous with the best of reggae, ska, and rocksteady coming off the island hosting artists like Burning Spear, Ras Michael, Delroy Wilson, and Horace Andy among others.
