Masked beatmaker Ozferti creates his own trip in 'Hagir Fikir'

In “Hagir Fikir” the masked and mysterious beatmaker Ozferti takes us on an adventure to discover a whole new world with this new track.

Before devoting himself entirely to his alias Ozferti, Florian Doucet worked as a producer with the Belgo-Colombian group La Chiva Gantiva (Crammed Discs) and Terrakota (Fazuma). His first EP The Call will be released in 2018 with a style all his own, mixing jazz and electronic, hip hop and bass music with East African instruments and rhythms.

In collaboration with Ethiopian diva Eténèsh Wassié, “Hagir Fikir” – Amharic translation of “love of country” – is the first single from a debut album scheduled for March 13. Ozferti pays tribute to the oldest Ethiopian popular theatre located in the middle of Addis. Here the producer brings together the popular Ethiopian repertoire and the UK garage, tribal groove.

Directing the clip, Ozferti knows how to mix an ancestral culture with a dystopian universe, where the laws of gravity obey no rules. Ozferti gives us one of a kind of a trip on this artwork.

Solarius Gamma is set to land on March 13th. You can pre-order it now here.
