King Coya is back with quirky visuals for 'Tierra de King Coya' feat La Walichera

Crazy cumbiero from Argentinian label ZZK is back with a psychedelic latino-futuristic music video.

Gabriel Kerpel’s musical alter-ego King Coya has been bringing the sounds and rhythms of the altiplano to the dancefloors since his debut album Cumbias de Villa Donde, released in 2009.

His most recent LP, Tierra de King Coya, released in 2018 displays his latino-futuristic universe, where charangos meet electronic drum kits and other laser sounds. The release features several collaborations, among which a song with singer La Yegros.

The track “Tierra de King Coya” featuring La Walichera blends Buyerengue (Colombian music style traditionally sung by women) and Argentinian Carnavalito with electronic sounds in an enigmatic soundscape.

Its recently released music video takes us to a singular and quirky visual universe, full of 8-bit visuals and cardboard sceneries. The retro-futuristic landscape synchronizes with the music thanks to Queen Cholas performer’s choregraphies.
