Souma Records reissues 2 immortal Oum Kalthoum' songs from the 70s

oum_kalthoum

Two milestones in Arabic music history reissued on a high-quality vinyl format.

Both composed by Mohamed Abdel Wahab, a prominent musician and composer in Egypt,  “Enta Omri” and “Laylet Hob” are getting reissued on Souma Records, October 18th. The Brussels based label have already published some of Kalthoum’s work last winter, with the reissue of “Alf Leila Wa Leila”.

With 1964’s “Enta Omri”, Abdel Wahab opened up the traditional repertoire of the diva to a more innovative style, for which the composer was known for. Whereas 1972’s “Laylet Hob” is the perfect symbiosis between Arabic music and poetry.

“Enta Omri” and “Laylet Hob”, out October 18th via Souma Records. Pre-order it now.
