60 creative women who are inspiring the future of music

To celebrate Women’s day, we offer you a playlist featuring 60 women that inspire us every day.

By listening to the tracks we decided to share, it has to be recognised: women are the ones making contemporary music more exciting and creative.

Without any regards to style barriers, we built this playlist following two common denominators. Of course, there’s Africa and its diaspora. But there’s also the fact of being an artist to be followed in 2019, be it on stage on through releases. This year’s first quarter has not past yet, but we already have discovered several gems: Lawnfadah’s organic R’n’B, Ibibio Sound Machine’s groovy afro-disco, Rina Mushonga”s hybrid sounds, Jamila Wood’s dreamy soul, Zara McFarlane’s charismatic dub, Deena Abdelwahed’s dark and disturbing techno, Jamaica’s young Koffee, Afro Pop Stars Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage, as well as Africa’s emerging electronic scenes.

Happy Women’s Day, and good listening, on Spotify or Deezer.
